Happy new year to all our reader, advertisers and supporters. 2019 marks the seventh year of our publication of ELECTRIC.ie . We are still growing and our website numbers, in particular, has grown massively. EMDA saw four new members join the ranks this year welcoming Ventilux, Hellermann Tyton, Ansell Lighting and Sanbra Fyffe. This year, the whole industry came together to show what they can do when it really matters. On a damp Friday morning on December 7th over 150 locations participated in the National Coffee Morning raising over €100,000 for our industry colleague Seán Cox who was injured at a Liverpool Match early in 2018. These companies should be very proud of themselves. The NSAI plan to replace the existing national wiring rules in 2019. Recently they have issued a public consultation document along with a press release highlighting the proposed changes. We take a look at these inside. The Jan/Feb edition always brings our report on the IEBA black Tie charity ball as well as the Philips (Signify) manager of the year event. We congratulate Dr Mike Byrne of Ei Electronics on his recent award at the UCD 2018 Alumni Awards. See page 23.
