ELECTRIC.IE • The Magazine & Website for the Irish Electrical Industry • 63 Electronic/Electrical Engineer EmCon Systems Ltd. is presently hiring for a full time position within our engineering team for an experienced engineer in our core disciplines, namely lighting technology, emergency lighting technology, lighting control systems and specialist electronic and electrical control systems which EmCon design, manufacture, service, commission and certify from our base in Crumlin, Dublin 12. There is an excellent remuneration package available for suitably qualified and experienced : Appointments Prospective candidates should have the following technical qualifications and experience : 1. General Electro-technical Qualification to FETAC Level 8 or equivalent ( Minimum ) Preferably a time served apprenticeship in electrical/electronic discipline followed by College/University study to Engineer Degree Level, Engineer Masters Level and/or Chartered Engineer. 2. I.S.3217:2013 + A1:2017 QQI Level 6 Certificate in the Design, Commission, and Certification of Emergency Lighting Systems preferable but not necessarily essential. 3. Experience in the design, pre-commissioning, commissioning, certification, servicing and programming of Emergency Lighting Systems (Self-Contained and Central Power Systems). AND/OR 4. Experience in the design, pre-commissioning, commissioning, certification, servicing and programming of Lighting Control Systems ( LCS ) and Emergency Lighting Automatic Testing Systems ( ATS ). An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the DALI protocol an advantage. AND/OR 5. Experience in the design, manufacture, test and commissioning of electronic and electrical control systems to include analogue and digital circuitry, process control and instrumentation, PCB design, PLC/Micro-Controller logic based programming and electrical control panel design for power, control, instrumentation & communication systems. 6. Possess a very high level of computer literacy and be able to use standard MS programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc., with a certificate of competency to the ECDL being a minimum requirement. 7. Possess a high level of Computer Aided Design AutoCAD 2D and/or 3D drawing competency as well as lighting and emergency lighting design knowledge and competency both manually and on computer based modelling programs such as Dialux EVO and/or Relux. BIM knowledge, Revit skills and experience would be an advantage. 8. A Full Clean Driving Licence with no endorsements required ( Essential ) 9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team based environment whilst being capable of engaging with EmCon’s clients in a presentable and professional manner.
