It has reading rooms, a children’s library, a 100-seater performance space and a local history section. It also houses the Ƥ”•– —‹…‹’ƒŽ ‰ƒŽŽ‡”› ‹ — Laoghaire-Rathdown as well as a cafe. The LexIcon was designed to embrace the modern concept of what a library should be - a key community space where all are welcome. When people walk through the door it was hoped they would get a sense of ‘wow’. It is a stunning public space and quite extraordinary. The building is key for the county’s cultural programme and a vibrant centre of learning. The library is designed to enhance the natural light as well as ensuring correct lighting levels for comfortable, safe reading at all times of the day and night.
