ELECTRIC.IE • The Magazine & Website for the Irish Electrical Industry • 13 INVESTING IN YOUR CABLES BUT NOT IN YOUR CABLE ACCESSORIES? PRYSMIAN IS DELIVERED TO YOU IN IRELAND BY WWW.PRECISIONCABLES.IE Precision Cables have launched an e-newsletter to all customers on their database. The main purpose is to regularly inform customers on: product development, industry news, monthly promotions, market trends. If you wish to be added to our database please visit our website and sign up today. www.precisioncables.ie A major cost factor in any electrical project is the actual cable and yet the market shows that often having invested in a superior quality cable, the same standard of accessory is not specified. “As a percentage of the overall investment, accessories would be minimal so I am always surprised when they sometimes compromise the quality of the accessory”, suggests Sean Cox, Director of Sales at Precision Cables. Bicon Components, a brand of the Prysmian Group, is manufactured specifically to suit the Prysmian cable range in premium quality and as a perfect fit. In the UK and other European markets it appears that once Prysmian cable has been chosen it is then the norm to specify equal quality accessories. No project manager would risk proposing anything else. Precision Cables stock the entire range of Bicon Components to compliment the standard range of Prysmian cables at their facility in Dundalk. In addition they can advise and determine requirements based on specialised and custom cable orders. According to Sean Cox, “our most successful and straight forward projects are always those where we get involved from the earliest stages of specification and we supply the entire cable and accessory requirements”.
