However, surge protection also has a part to play in this technology. Charging stations and home charging stations are high-quality and highly complex systems that need to be available at all times. A surge protection concept provides the necessary protection for both the charging station and the electric car that is connected, protecting against overvoltages caused by lightning strikes and switching operations on the grid. Feed-in is protected with Phoenix Contact's newValvetrab EV surge protective devices developed specifically for e-mobility applications. The new product family consists of a type 1+2 combined lightning current and surge arrester and a type 2 surge protective device. Both versions are available with optional remote indication contact. The plugs enable easy insulation measurement and are mechanically coded. This prevents accidental mismatching of the plugs. For a consistent protection concept, sensitive components, such as Ethernet communication or the control panel, are protected with appropriate type 3 surge protective devices. These devices are already available in the Phoenix Contact product portfolio and work with the newVAL-EV devices. Disconnect or protect applications safely and conveniently with Push-in Technology T he PT 6 P/P HV disconnect terminal blocks with Push- in connection from Phoenix Contact are characterized by the easy-to-use connection technology and disconnect element. The switching state can be clearly seen at all times. Due to the robust design of the isolating plug and disconnect knife, the devices can be used in harsh environments. The disconnect terminal blocks can be loaded with up to 32 A and are designed for voltages up to 1000 V. The integrated 4 mm test sockets enable quick and safe testing. The PT 6-DREHSI screw cap fuse terminal blocks with Push-in connection extend the existing range. They are suitable for 5 x 20 mm type G fuse-links and are also available as a version with a tripping status indicator. Faulty fuses can be easily identified via an LED display. The fuse-links are easily accessible, so they can be replaced conveniently. The fuse terminal blocks are designed to be extremely robust and versatile. All terminal blocks support flexible potential distribution via the universal function shaft. Flat marking areas enable easy identification in any installation position.
