ELECTRIC.IE • The Magazine & Website for the Irish Electrical Industry • 23 LPEhDoVeAniNxCEontact Protection, monitoring, and switching of DC loads without any electric arcs In the switched off state, the relays in the power path provide electrical isolation at both positions. Contactron ELR HDC is used in DC grids wherever energy needs to be exchanged between sources, loads, and the grid itself at socalled DC branches. In addition to switching up to 55 A at up to 810 V, the device performs additional tasks that are necessary for operating a DC grid. During operation, the miniature circuit breaker monitors particularly important parameters and also makes them available for process data acquisition. If the operating current exceeds the set maximum value, Contactron ELR HDC switches off with a time delay, up to a very fast shortcircuit shutdown. The device also switches off in the event of an undervoltage or overvoltage in the input. The miniature circuit breaker charges capacitors in the output up to the input voltage so that current peaks are avoided during switch-on. In addition, Contactron ELR HDC has a digital input/ output and a communication interface for integration into Overcurrent protection for load currents up to 20 A Caparoc is an individual modular system. Thanks to the many combination and communication options and with the current value extended up to 20 A, the system adapts perfectly to the conditions of the respective application. The system is being extended constantly and the numerous modules are always compatible with one another. The new 20 A circuit breaker modules from Caparoc provide an innovative solution for overcurrent protection in decentralized applications. These modules are available in fixed nominal currents of 12 A, 16 A, and 20 A as well as in an adjustable version from 12 to 20 A. They enable selective overcurrent protection in series with two-channel circuit breaker The Caparoc circuit breaker system from Phoenix Contact now also offers modules for overcurrent protection for load currents up to 20 A. This extends the possible applications of the customizable system. modules. The advantages of electronic circuit breakers are thus supplemented by the possibilities of the selective design of conventional circuit breakers. These new modules can now also be used to realize more extensive applications. The clearly structured and selective protection technology makes troubleshooting much easier, resulting in higher application efficiency and reliability. Sustainable production in which renewable energies are used begins with the establishment of an industrial DC grid. With Contactron ELR HDC, Phoenix Contact provides a multifunctional DC switching device whose modern semiconductor technology, in combination with proven DC relays, switches arc-free and thereby ensures a long service life. network environments. Users can easily adapt the device parameters to their requirements via the network or with the clipX Engineer parameterization software from Phoenix Contact.
