Electric.ie is published by Electric Bureau Ireland Ltd. The magazine is circulated throughout Ireland and is available on wholesale trade counters and from representatives of electrical distributors who are members of EMDA The editor welcomes: contributions of technical papers, information on new products, details of installation projects and all editorial input of interest to our readers. Printed by W&G Baird As another year draws to a close, we would like to extend a special thank you to Phoenix Contact, who have once again kindly supplied a free wall planner for our readers. It is a welcome tradition and a great way to look ahead to the year to come. This edition also marks another milestone for our magazine, as we celebrate 14 years in existence. We say it every year, but it is worth repeating: without the continued support of the electrical industry, we simply would not be here. We are hugely appreciative of the manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and wholesalers who support us throughout the year. Our aim has always been to provide value to our readers and advertisers alike, and we are delighted that, somehow, it all continues to work! Looking at the wider industry, business appears to be moving in a positive direction as we head towards the end of 2026. More than 26,000 new homes were completed during the first three quarters of the year, representing a 10.6% increase on the same period in 2025. We are also seeing signs of major projects getting underway again, with the new National Maternity Hospital receiving the green light from Government. These are encouraging developments, and hopefully the momentum will continue well into 2027. There is plenty happening across the industry in this edition. GARO introduces the next generation of EV charging solutions for 2027 on page 7, while Troy Panels celebrates an impressive 20 years in business and Gigamedia marks 30 years of delivering smart building solutions. You can read more about these milestones on page 38. There is also exciting news from OEM Demesne Electrical, which has opened a major new Dublin distribution hub at APEX in Ballymount. The official opening takes place on 2nd December, although the team has already commenced trading from the new facility. We take a closer look at this significant investment on page 29. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Electric Ireland has announced the shortlisted finalists for its inaugural Harmony Awards 2026. The awards recognise excellence in sustainability, innovation, technical achievement and project delivery across the HVACR, heat pump, building services, automation and robotics sectors. Full details can be found on page 36. We have also moved our Appointments section further towards the front of the magazine to reflect the current employment climate and the opportunities available within the industry. There are several excellent positions featured in this edition, with some of the leading names in the electrical sector looking to expand their teams. Turn to page 16 for more information. Elsewhere, AP Haslam celebrates an outstanding 50-year partnership with Weidmüller on page 14, while Schneider Electric is offering some fantastic prizes through its POWER THE GRID competition on page 27. There is certainly plenty to read about! As always, we hope you enjoy this edition and find it both informative and useful. We are grateful to everyone who contributes, advertises, shares news and supports the magazine. Fourteen years is a significant achievement for us, and we certainly don't take that support for granted. Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to working with you throughout 2027.
