Between January and September of this year, 26,833 new homes have been completed, marking an increase of 10.6% compared with the same period in 2025, when 24,256 homes were completed. The number of single dwellings completed in Q3 2026 was 1,527, up 2.1% from Q3 2025. Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD, said: “It is once again greatly encouraging to see record numbers of homes being completed as we approach the end of the year. While this progress is encouraging, I am taking nothing for granted, but as a key indicator of where we are at, it demonstrates that our policies are translating into real progress on the ground, delivering more homes and putting keys in people's hands." Industry News OPW acquires prominent office space, ‘The Guild Building’ Cork Street, Dublin 8 The Office of Public Works (OPW) has successfully completed the purchase of a strategically located office building in the heart of Dublin 8. The building which currently provides a number of key public offices and support facilities for two Government Departments is centrally located and in an accessible part of the city with excellent public transport links. Having previously leased the building, this strategic acquisition will eliminate rental expenditure. The money saved on rent is estimated to completely cover the purchase cost of the building in less than twelve years. The purchase will therefore deliver significant annual savings and a substantial return on investment for the State. .
